Our History

Dachshunds Unlimited was founded in 2004 by Susie Thomas and her family. Susie began with not only a true passion for Miniature Dachshunds but also a steadfast commitment to ensuring the optimal health and lifetime happiness of our breeding pairs and their precious puppies. She performed extensive research of best breeding practices and learned everything she could from the American Kennel Club, the AKC Dachshund Club of America, reference books, and experienced reputable breeders.

After researching countless canine pedigrees and the reputations of professional breeders throughout the United States, Susie acquired her first breeding pairs from two of the top Miniature Dachshund breeders in the country. We at Dachshunds Unlimited feel that we have been well rewarded for our hard work and tender loving care with generations of beautiful, healthy, good tempered, and well-socialized Miniature Dachshunds.

We Are a Certified AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Breeder

Dachshunds Unlimited has been a certified AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T breeder for Miniature Dachshunds since 2011. We are committed to the health and welfare of our breeding stock as well as the beloved puppies born into our care.

As an active member of the AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. breeder program, our facilities are regularly inspected, and our puppies and their parents are regularly health tested. We have also continued to meet or exceed all program requirements as specified by the AKC.

Our Specialties

At Dachshunds Unlimited, we specialize in the breeding of purebred, smooth and longhair Miniature Dachshund puppies in an array of colors and patterns.

The self colors (i.e., base colors) of our darling Dachshunds range from red, black and tan, chocolate and tan, and cream to the subtly shaded dilute colors of Isabella (fawn), blue and tan, and Isabella and tan. Our Dachshunds' marking patterns include solid, dapple, double dapple, and piebald.

Our puppies are AKC Registered and have been carefully bred not only for their exceptional beauty but also for their intelligence, temperament, and health.
